Chocolate Orange Loaf Cake

Is there anyone who doesn’t love the combination of chocolate and orange and of course a Terry’s Chocolate Orange is always a treat!

This loaf cake uses orange extract to get the right hit and it’s a light chocolate orange sponge, packed full of chocolate orange pieces and finally decorated with a chocolate orange buttercream. Oh did I mention it’s decorated with Chocolate Orange pieces too? Yea a lot of chocolate orange here but absolutely no one is complaining!

The cake is baked at a low heat and for around an hour to prevent it drying out and it works really well.

Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

These cupcakes have a great surprise once you take a bite! Nice chunks of chocolate orange pieces throughout and this adds such a special touch. They are topped with an orange flavoured buttercream and I used the Golden Yellow from the Wilton Gel Dye range to get this shade.

The recipe is originally from Jane’s Patisserie and I’ve changed a couple of things and the method to get a perfect result each time.

Chocolate Orange Cookies

There’s a lovely baker called Jane who adores anything that has the combination of chocolate and orange and she regularly uses Terry’s Chocolate Orange to create wonderful recipes! I find Jane’s Patisserie a great source for those recipes that tend to create lasting memories and her Chocolate Orange Cookies are certainly one of those!

They are a wonderful combination of crispy edge and soft, chewy centre and are seriously, seriously good! I bought a second box so I could place a wedge on top of each cookie but that’s up to you. They do add something very special to the finished product though ….

Chocolate Orange Cupcakes

When I saw this recipe, I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I knew I had to make it and even though it was a few weeks between spotting it and trying it, it was worth the wait. These cupcakes are full of Terry’s Chocolate Orange chunks throughout and I added a little ingredient to bring out the full flavour of orange and chocolate – a match made in heaven! The buttercream is made with orange juice and zest and of course you have to top them with slices of Terry’s Chocolate Orange  to complete their deliciousness!
